We'd like your time in Absolution to be enjoyable. While you're in Absolution you're part of a guild and a community with shared interests, common goals and ultimately a joined approach to furthering yours and the guilds' development. That said, this is the Internet, and human beings are nothing if not unpredictable. In an ideal world, we'd not need to have rules. Sadly, this world isn't perfect so we've got the following rules in place to help make the guild and your playtime a bit more enjoyable.
You must be 17 years old to be a member of Absolution. Exceptions to this rule will be made for immediate family members, however responsibility for the younger member lies with the older one.
As the guild is mostly adults, you may not necessarily like or agree with the tone and/or topic of conversation in /g or on Discord. Things may get rude or heated and you are asked to have a thick skin and not to take offense at things that are meant as a joke. However, with this in mind if you do find something truly offensive or uncomfortable you're within your rights to ask people to stop or tone it down. If people persist after you've asked, please feel free to contact an officer or the GM.
Treat other players, both in and out of the guild, with some respect. Absolution's a mature guild, but we have a zero tolerance policy for abusive behaviour, harassment, or comments of a discriminatory nature in any communication channel. Anyone caught acting in this way will be removed from the guild immediately.
Please keep all conversations, especially on the Guild Chat channel, as family friendly as possible. The guild has a wide and varied age range, and several members of the guild have children. Excessive swearing is not acceptable. Please be responsible with what you type. The availability of a profanity filter does not absolve you of your responsibility.
Please keep conversations in the public channels in English. Should you feel the need to converse in Swahili or another non-English language please go to a private channel or whispers.
Guild chat is not a trade channel. We've got a forum for hawking your wares to the guild, plus WoW has a fully functioning Auction House. Trying to sell your BoE Epicz of Doom repeatedly in guild chat will likely result in a warning and further action being taken for repeat violations.
No begging/whining. This includes begging for money, items, quest help, etc. If you're in need of something specific, post a message on the forums and try to arrange a time it can be done. Not everyone has the same idea of fun, nor is it reasonable to expect people to be able to drop what they're doing because YOU NEED HELP NAO. People will help you if and when it’s convenient for them to help you. If no one is available to help you immediately, feel free to do something else in game in the meantime and come back to whatever it is you're needing help with when its more convenient for others.
World of Warcraft Specific Rules:
As we're on an RP Server in WoW you should follow the RP Realm Policy as best you can. That means no speaking out of character in public channels (/say and /yell) at any time. This is in addition to the usual policies and T& C's associated with MMO's like WoW. Failure to follow the game policies can lead to action being taken by a GM (up to and including account bans) and immediate removal of your characters from Absolution.
During your trial period you'll may have 2 characters in Absolution, of which 1 will be designated as your main. Once you've completed your trial period, you may have up to 5 characters in Absolution of which 1 will be designated as your main (Agent/Dark Agent/Shadow Agent) and 4 as alts (Double Agents). Alts must be higher than level 15, or Level 70 in the case of Death Knights, before requesting an invite.
We demand all players are fairly active therefore any main character who is inactive for one month without prior notice will be removed from the guild. Alts must be logged in at least once every month to avoid removal.
A guild member who is planning on taking an extended break with the intent to return should post a note on the forums with the expected return date. If you don't return within one month of that date you will be removed from the guild. Any guild member who is removed due to inactivity may be reinstated upon returning at a rank no higher than Agent.
It is expected that all guild members will sign up on the guild forum (http://www.absolution-guild.com/forum). The forum should be visited on a regular basis in order to keep in touch with happenings within the guild, and to sign up for planned raids and events. Trial members should note that you'll be unable to progress beyond the rank of Initiate without an active forum account.
Guild members who have difficulty signing up on the forum should contact an officer to discuss the situation.
The Disciplinary Process:
For standard infractions committed by full members we operate a three-strike policy of a warning, then demotion to trial member (or stripped of officer rank as applicable) and finally, removal from the guild. In the case of serious incidents two strikes may be implemented as punishment for a single infraction. A trial member will be removed on their first infraction.
If you wish to inform an officer of an infraction, please contact them in-game and provide with sufficient evidence to support your claim (i.e. screenshots or chatlogs). If there's no officer around, or you wish to handle the matter yourself then a simple request or statement informing the player they're in violation of the rules should be sufficient. If this does not suffice then please contact an officer or the GM with details and evidence.
In the case of serious violations of the rules we reserve the right to remove characters from the guild and apply bans on the forums or voice comms at any time with sufficient evidence
